Chelsea Makela was born and raised in Brentwood, (Northern)CA. Chelsea is what some have described as a young female Jack Black- she's the loving, friendly, hilarious, best friend everyone wishes they could have. Her favorite things to do as a child included swimming for her local competitive swim team, touring with the elite Contra Costa Children's Chorus, competing in local talent shows, and performing with her community theater troupe and improv team. She is a graduate of Second City's IFA program and has studied at UCB as well.
Directly after graduating valedictorian of her high school class, Chelsea was called to film the lead role “Tracy Transfat” in Paramount’s “Dance Flick”. Following her press tour, Chelsea filmed the series lead “Yasmine” in the pilot “Aloha”, playing an eco-friendly, hippy, “beach loving” teen. Most recently, Chelsea was asked to share her weight loss success story in the documentary "Why Am I So Fat?" to help inspire others to reach their weight loss goals. Chelsea also just filmed a lead role in Heroica Film's "Got Rights" campaign, with Courteney Cox. In addition Chelsea has made appearances on various television shows and voiced numerous audio books, radio ads, animated series and online tutorials. She most recently released the True Beauty "My Medical Binder" & "The True Beauty Journal", available for purchase at Amazon.
Chelsea is also a contributing writer and correspondent for Plus Talk Media.
Chelsea currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
